Panweld HDD Precision Cleaning Technology

Panweld has developed a precision cleaning platform specifically engineered for HDD glass & aluminium substrates and critical precision components used in hard disk manufacturing.
 

With over 20 years of industrial process experience, Panweld’s technology integrates precision contact cleaning, rapid rinsing and precision drying into a controlled, repeatable and production-proven cleaning architecture.
 

At the core of the system is PVA brush contact cleaning, designed to remove sub-micron particles, polishing slurry residues, organic films, chemical carry-over and surface contaminants that cannot be effectively removed by rinsing alone. The process is controlled through brush compression, substrate rotation, contact pressure, fluid delivery and cleaning dwell time to achieve stable particle removal while protecting substrate surface integrity.
 

To further enhance particle dislodgement and surface cleaning efficiency, the process can be integrated with ultrasonic and megasonic technology, supported by high-flow rinsing tanks with continuous filtration.. These aqueous based cleaning stages support the removal of fine particles, embedded residues and micro-contamination from substrate surfaces and critical components.
 

The cleaning process is followed by a high-efficiency quick-rinse sequence. This stage is engineered to immediately evacuate dislodged particles and residual chemistry from the substrate surfaces. The rinse profile is designed to reduce chemical drag-out, prevent particle redeposition, maintain uniform surface wetting and ensure stable water quality before drying.

The final stage applies Panweld’s precision drying technology, where airflow profile, drying environment, substrate transition and handling control are optimised to achieve uniform water removal. This minimises watermarks, drying stains, contact-point marks and secondary contamination before the substrate proceeds to the next process.
